About us

GREEN DESIGNS is a Kenyan firm of Architects fully owned and managed by indigenous Kenyans. Since its formation in February 2007, the firm has established a reputation in the fields of Architecture, Environmental Design, Interior Design, Industrial Design and Contract Management. The firm places the interests of their clients above everything else. The clients are taken through the design process from inception to project implementation to ensure that the projects are to their satisfaction.
Since its inception, GREEN DESIGNS has never been involved in any litigation with any of our clients; neither has it been involved in any project that led to a dispute between the contracting parties (i.e. client and contractors/suppliers) involving either litigation or arbitration. Both directors of the firm are trained professional arbitrators. This has ensured that potential disputes in the course of implementing projects are amicably resolved before they develop into contractual disputes.

In order to guarantee that our design quality is maintained, the staff is continuously trained through attendance of seminars and international conferences. The firm has also subscribed to international design journals and periodicals to keep abreast with current trends in architecture. Through effective supervision during construction period, the firm has maintained products of the highest quality. We either give out the very best there is or nothing at all.

Staff

Presently, the firm’s permanent staff comprises of two fully qualified Architects (Partners), a Graduate Architect, an Assistant Architect and an Office Administrator. Student Architects also work with the firm, while Clerks of Works are employed and seconded to construction sites on a need basis.

Both Partners are University of Cambridge, UK trained Environmental Design experts, well trained and exposed both locally and internationally and with a wealth of experience in all aspects of design.

Mutua J. Mweu (B.Arch, MPhil, MAAK) is a Kenyan by birth with a partnership share of 50%. He is a Registered Architect & Corporate Member of AAK; a lecturer at the Technical University of Kenya; an Environmental Design Expert and Consultant and a GreenStar Accredited Professional.

Musau Kimeu (B.Arch, MPhil, MAAK) is also a Kenyan by birth with a partnership share of 50%. He is a Registered Architect & Corporate Member of AAK; a lecturer at the University of Nairobi and an Environmental Design Expert and Consultant.

Solomon M. Nzuki (B.Arch, MAAK(GA)) is a Kenyan by birth and a Graduate Architect from the University of Nairobi. He is also a Graduate Member of AAK; an Environmental Design enthusiast and an Architectural Visualization Expert.

Sebastian M. Kilonzo (Dip. Tech. Arch) is a Kenyan by birth and an Assistant Architect from the Technical University Of Kenya. He is a professional model maker and an Architectural Rendering Expert.

The firm also has a list of associating professionals who are engaged on commission basis when specialized services are required. These include Quantity Surveyors, Civil and Structural Engineers, Services Engineers and sometimes, Contractors.
